SAN DIEGO LATINO FILM FESTIVAL PRESENTS THE FINAL INSTALLMENT OF THE ANNUAL 2009 CINEMA EN TU IDIOMA FILM SERIES WITH THREE FEATURES FROM IFC FILMS: PERRO COME PERRO, VOY A EXPLOTAR, AND FERMAT'S ROOM

San Diego, CA. Media Arts Center San Diego's San Diego Latino Film Festival presents its final installment of the 2009 Cinema en Tu Idioma Film Series showcasing three international films. This “mini-festival” will feature screenings of PERRO COMO PERRO, VOY A EXPLOTAR, and FERMAT’S ROOM November 6-12 at UltraStar Mission Valley Cinemas at Hazard Center (off 163 Freeway & Friars Rd.). Cinema en tu Idioma is funded by The Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences. 
 

PERRO COME PERRO, starring Oscar Borda, Blas Jaramillo, and Marlon Moreno

A gritty Colombian gangster flick, with humor! Dog Eat Dog follows two small-time thugs, Eusebio and Victor, who share a room and a crime boss. When, for completely different reasons, they manage to get on the boss' bad side, they try to escape their fate, with the other's help. Screening Times:  

Frid. 11/6, Mon. 11/9, and Thurs. 11/12 at 10:30am and 6:00pm; Sat. 11/7 at 3:30pm and 10:45pm; Tues. 11/10 at 3:30pm; Sun. 11/8 and Wed. 11/11 at 1:00pm and 8:30pm.

  

VOY A EXPLOTAR, Produced by Gael Garcia Bernal and Diego Luna. From the director of Drama/Mex. Starring Juan Pablo de Santiago, Maria Deschamps, and Daniel Gimenéz Cacho
This crowd-pleasing Mexican Drama tells the story of Roman and Maru, two troubled teenagers who attempt an impossible rebellion against the adult world. Despite the risk of getting caught by the police and their parents, the young fugitives jeopardize the security of their hiding place in hope to return to the real world where wounds are real and actions have consequences.

FERMAT’S ROOM, starring Alejo Sauras, Elena Ballesteros, Federico Luppi, Lluis Homar, and Santi Millan  
Fermat’s Room is a stunning Spanish thriller, winner of numerous festival awards. The film stars two of Spain’s best known actors; Santi Millán and Lluis Homar as well as the ever popular Federico Luppi.

Four mathematicians who do not know each other are invited by a mysterious host on the pretext of resolving a great enigma. The room in which they find themselves turns out to be a shrinking room that will crush them if they do not discover in time what connects them all and why someone might wish to murder them.

 Screening Times: Fri. 11/6 at 3:30pm and 10:45pm, Mon. 11/9 and Thurs. 11/12 at 3:30pm, Sat. 11/7 and Tues. 11/10 at 1:00pm and 8:30pm, Sun. 11/8 and Wed. 11/11 at 10:30am and 6:00pm.

 

 

Tickets are $9.50 General Audiences / $7.50 Students, seniors & Media Arts Center San Diego members. The 2009 Cinema en tu Idioma series runs for four months from August to November. The series schedule is as follows: August 21-27 (Casi Divas), September 18-24 (Paraiso Travel), October 9-15 (TBD), and November 6-12 (Perro como Perro, Voy a Explotar, Fermat's Room).
